Cinema Verite receives 71 historical docs

More than 10% of the Cinema Verite films are historical documentaries, media has reported.

A total of 71 historical films have requested to participate at the national competition section of the 13th edition of the event.

Names of the selected films for various sections are to be announced later in November.

More than 6,000 international documentaries from 100 countries have also registered to take part at the international section of the festival.

Organized by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center, the first edition of the Cinema Vérité was held in 2007.

Over the past decade it has emerged as one of the important events on Iran's documentary film calendar.

The 13th edition of the Cinema Vérité will take place in December 2019.
